Hearing the Future: Young Composers

Program:

Currently sponsored by the Herbert Templeton Foundation, this innovative program gathers young composers (grades 612) from around Oregon for workshops over a nine-month period. During the workshops, the student composers develop their compositional ideas, experiment with orchestration, and have their works professionally performed and recorded. Since its inception in 1997, the project has resulted in composition winners at regional and national levels. Many of our young composers have gone on to further study and the beginnings of illustrious careers. You can¹t miss it!
