A Taste of Portland Dance

Last year Dance Coalition of Oregon initiated an event that seems so logical - present a selection of local dance-makers in a single unique performance.

There were a few skeptics: "if you can get all these people onto the same stage it will be a miracle," - something like that was heard, but artists from Rumpus Room, Northwest Professional Dance Project, Polaris Dance Company, Agnieszka Laska Dancers, Minh Tran & Company, Luciana Proano and guests from Ashland: Dancing People Company got together and performed to a full house at Imago Theatre on the 2008 summer solstice, to contribute to the celebration of community radio station, KBOO's 40th Anniversary.

The success of last year's event called for its continuation, so Portland dance enthusiasts will be treated to another sampling of the region's rich milieu of diverse dance, including: Ballet, Modern, Afro, Butoh, featuring professional choreographers with their affiliate performers.
